— Days Without Shea —

I am hoping this is just a joke or bad rumor. Bur Craig Carton reported on the Boomer & Carton show this morning that the Mets plan to honor Chipper Jones during the Braves' final homestand at Citi Field.

Chipper (a.k.a. Larry) is known for many things, including beating up the Mets his entire career and naming his son Shea, after our beloved ballpark where he enjoyed so much success.

Ok for that last thing I give Chipper credit. But isn't that honor enough? Why do the Mets have to take time out of their busy schedule to recognize the career of a guy who BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF US?

Next thing you know, we will be building staturs and atriums to players who never even wore a Met uniform. Oh wait, never mind.

The mets have a busy schedule? Last time I checked they weren't selling out any games.
