Nothing is certain in life except death, taxes and Jose Reyes going on the disabled list.

Jose was having a standout year. Lets hope this doesn't become another protracted stay on the injured list. The Mets are undefeated since Jose went down so lets also hope Wilpon doesn't notice and keep his check book closed. From the NY Post:

LOS ANGELES -- The Mets attempts to keep Joe Reyes off the disabled list have been proven futile.

The team placed their star shortstop on the DL on Thursday, retroactive to July 3. Manager Terry Collins had hoped to keep Reyes available for a series against the Phillies that starts after the All-Star break.

Reyes suffered a hamstring strain while beating out an infield single in the first inning of Saturday's loss to the Yankees. The Mets have won four straight without Reyes in the lineup.

Ruben Tejada has replaced him at shortstop with Angel Pagan filling in at the top of the Mets lineup.

The team called up Nick Evans from Triple-A Buffalo to take Reyes' spot on the roster.

this is the karma of the Mets fan...we rally for him. we stuff the ballot boxes in the last 2 weeks to get him into the All Star Game. And just as soon as the voting is tallied (before we find out that he's the starter), he gets injured and has to miss the game.
