July 12, 1962 - The Rollin' Stones play their
first gig at the Marquee Club, with a lineup of Mick Jagger, Keith
Richards, Brian Jones, Ian Stewart (piano), Dick Taylor (bass), Tony
Chapman (drums).
The Stones would finally break through in 1963, thanks in part to the single "I wanna be your man," authored for them by Lennon and McCartney. Of course, the Beatles would play Shea Stadium in 1965 and 1966, followed by the Stones a short twenty-three years later. More on that in the Shea Rocks section.
Great one Kong! Gosh, Keefer is going crazy, love that!
Labor of love, I suspect for you.
