Deadspin tracked down this autograph appearance gone awry for Met legend and Hall of Famer Gary Carter:
Carter was signing autographs FOR FREE at the All-Star FanFest convention. Players are only to sign pieces of paper provided for the event, not merchandise that professional autograph seekers can then sell. This bozo captures Gary behaving very graciously to the folks before him, and then responding with class as our director has a meltdown in front of his kid. Nice work.
He had no regards for those kids at all, let alone what Gary could and could not sign for them. All he was interested in was trying to make Carter look bad so he could put it on on YouTube and get his 15 minutes of fame.
He and his camera, should be banned from events like this. Here's hoping they've got that 'list' and he's on it.
The sad thing is the 'director' of this video KNEW what he was doing. I am certain 'he' bought the pictures, and used the kids as mules to get the photos signed.
You don't see many 5 year-olds that a big fans of The Kid who would spend money on a picture.
I hope that Gary spoke with the kids, asked their names, and "Personalized" the photos he ended up signing.
This director is an immature adult idiot.
