The Shea Stadium Festival for Peace happened on August 6th, 1970. Johnny Winter, CCR, Paul Simon and others rocked Shea during a little known but massively historic concert. Janis Joplin also appeared - one of her last gigs ever.

Nine months before that majestic moment in rock & roll history, Janis and Johnny Winters appeared with Jefferson Airplane, Sly & the Family Stone and headliners The Rolling Stones along with a dozen other big stars at the Palm Beach Music & Art Pop Festival.

Photographer Ken Davidoff was at both events. He wrote in recently with some fantastic memories of the Shea Festival. Ken is now currently working on a documentary about the Palm Beach Pop Festival.
