The Mets open a new stadium. We get a pandemic of injuries, a shirtless assistant GM who challenges minor leaguers to fist fights and a GM who accuses beat reporters of scheming for jobs.

The Spankees open a new stadium and win a World Series.

The only positive this morning: The 2009 baseball season is finally over.

DepressedFan (a.k.a. Brian; a.k.a. the guy who runs the Blogs By Fans network) was at the game last night and filed a full report with videos. He was also thoughtful enough to send this photo to me at 12:30 this morning:

Do you think 15 game plan holders will get invoices like the old "Saturday, Sunday, Mid-week" plans at Shea or will we be given a date and time like last year? If they send me an invoice for the "Saturday Plan" with only 10 Saturdays and the same shit location, they can stick it!!!!

I haven't yet heard of any changes in partial plan policies. The Mets have been remarkably quiet thus far.
