Another step in the right direction - The Mets are bringing back the pinstripes.

The Mets put out a press release today detailing their new home uniforms. Unfortunately the all white uniforms and the black jerseys are still with us.

Here's the release:

FLUSHING, N.Y. - The New York Mets today announced they will wear a new pinstripe home uniform next season inspired by the early years of the franchise. The design combines new and old elements of Mets uniforms. The Mets created the retro uniform following research and positive responses to the jerseys the 1969 World Champion Mets wore during their 40th anniversary celebration in August.

The natural color and pinstripes were staples of the original Mets uniform when the team debuted in 1962. The Mets will also continue to wear their white uniform at home with the black jerseys as an alternate.

The new pinstripe jerseys will go on sale this Friday, November 27 at the Mets Team Store at Citi Field and will kick off the store's special Thanksgiving Sale. The jersey will also be available the same day on Mets.com.

My first thoughts were to agree with you Kong but now I really think this is just a marketing ploy, to sell more jerseys. It takes the uniform the Mets should be wearing and makes it a nostalgic wear.

Watch, in 2011 they will phase it out completely or only use for special games.

I do hope the classic jersey sticks and quickly becomes the permanent home uniform. The Cardinals and Dodgers get it right. They stick to two classic home and away looks. They don't cheapen their brand with tacky black (third) uniformns. This is an instance where the Wilpons should imitate the refugees from Flatbush.

Got my 15 Game Plan Invoice the other day and it DID change. Its now called the Saturday-Plus Plan. And it DID go down in price a whole FOURTEEN DOLLARS!!!! However, since parking is going up a buck to $19 and its a 15 Game Plan, thats a total net increase of $1. Called the Mets yesterday, to tell them that
1) The same seats (Promenade Box 430) are unacceptable.
2) The plan with weekdays throw in was unacceptable.
3) I will NOT be renewing if changes can not be made.
They told me to call back next week to see what can be done.
I suggest, if your not happy, you try the same.
Finally, I wish ALL you LOGE 13'ers and your families a very Happy Thanksgiving, and I'll lets you know what happens
