That last bullet item seems odd. Didn't the Mets Kids Club guarantee actual tickets at Shea Stadium? I bought the club thing two years ago (for my kids, not me silly) and we all went to the picnic area through tickets that i thought came from the membership. My memory may be foggy, however.

No, your memory is not foggy. They did give you a coupon to turn in for 2 tickets to a weekday game during the season. I had gotten the kids club for my son for about 6 years now and we always went to a game.

Strange but true: Mets nix kid tix to new stadium


By design, Citi Field has far less capacity than Shea Stadium, and thus tickets will be tougher to come by than ever.


That includes members of the Mets' Kids Club, in which a 2009 membership still costs $25 and includes stuff such as a banner, visor and photo album. But because of Citi's "more intimate environment," it no longer includes two tickets to a weekday night game.


"We've seen all these articles about sticking it to the little guy, but now they have stuck it to the littlest guys and the future supporters of their game," wrote a reader whose daughter was in the '08 club.


A spokesman said the Mets still are "exploring additional membership benefits" for the package

Reason for no kids tickets? Lower capacity.

The Mets could give discount coupons for all those four or five mid-week getaway 12:05 games (the games that aren't in a 15-game plan)... which wouldn't be bad for a kid to attend. At least the children will be home for supper.
