As bad as Sunday was, Saturday, September 27, 2008 will go down as "The Santana Game."
That was the day Santana made himself a true Met. Pitching on three days rest, Johan went out and threw a dominant 3-hitter in a must-win game for the Mets. We learned that Santana just today had surgery on his left knee, which meant he was also pitching hurt. That dramatic effort would result in the last Met win at Shea Stadium.
