Here are the last batch of photos I took as I left Shea Stadium for the absolute last time.
First of all (and Ross Jones this is for you), I went to alot of games in the early 80's with my high school pal Dan. We always sat in the upper deck, near the immortal Met fan Fuzzy and his cohorts. Here is Fuzzy at tonight's game:

As you might expect after such a heavy loss, the walk down the ramps to the exits was very somber. Here's what it looked like:

As we descended, I snapped one final portrait of Queens and Manhattan from the breathtaking ramparts of Shea Stadium. Soon, only birds and dangerously low-flying aircraft will experience these glorious vistas:

As we walked out, this sign -which I have passed under hundreds of times - suddenly had significance:
