We slept much better last night than we did after Tuesday's tough loss
. Santana may not have been the ace stopper we needed last night but he kept us in the game. The Mets beat the Phillies 6-3 and regained a 1/2 game lead in the NL East.
Daniel Murphy had the game winning hit but it was the Carlos Coalition - absent Tuesday night - that secured the victory for us Wednesday. Delgado (3-4 with two home runs) was actually being chatted up as a potential National League MVP (!?!) on SNY and ESPN last night and today. What a world.
David Wright did not exactly have a great series at the plate (2-11, two strikeouts last night). He made some nice plays on the field but the Mets need his bat if this is going to be a successful road trip.
The Phillies play in Chicago tonight, while the Mets are off. Ross Jones (or any Chicago readers of Loge13) - if you go to the game, send pictures.
