Budweiser at Shea Stadium

This raises some intriguing questions.

Does Shea Stadium have to edit the giant center field Budweiser sign that refers to Bud as "The great American lager"?

Will Bud now be considered an import beer and therefore, taste better?

Another important beer development at Shea Stadium. Last week, they started selling these giant 24 oz beer cups for $9.50, instead of the 16 oz bottles for $8.00.  This has a significant impact on beer economics in Shea. As Don Hahn Solo pointed out earlier this year:

BUDWEISER AT SHEA:
  • $8 for 16 ounces is fifty cents an ounce.
  • There are 128 ounces in a gallon.
  • Bud at Shea Stadium is $64 a gallon.
With the new offer, beer is now trading at only $50.60/gallon. Now that is a deal!. Perhaps Phil Gramm is right: this recession is all in our minds!
