SheaCiti_OpeningDay08At Tuesday night’s Mets-Nationals game, Met fan Antonio Nararainsami, 36 and father of two, fell to his death from one of the escalators.

There was some debate over whether the victim had been sliding down the escalator ramp (according to some witnesses) or had simply lost his balance and toppled over the side (which his family members contend).

Newsday published the finding of the medical examiner. “An autopsy concluded that Antonio Narainasami, 36, died Tuesday from blunt force trauma of the torso and extremities, a spokeswoman for the medical examiner said”

The Newsday article also has a little video report from inside Shea Stadium worth watching. Newsday took some great video of the Shea Stadium escalators from many angles – including looking straight down. Anyone who has ever ridden those escalators and peered over the side will appreciate the clips.
