If you haven't done your taxes by April 15th and have tickets to Shea Stadium, the responsible thing to do would be to stay home and do your taxes.
But if you waited this long, what the heck...just go to the game.
And the Mets will make it easy for you. they are providing accountants at Shea so you can prepare your returns while watching the Brewers (4/12 & 4/13) and the Nationals (4/15) take on the boys in blue and orange.
If the accountants are really smart, they will set up their tables near the ridiculously long bathroom lines.
Here are the details, from the recordonline.com:
POUGHKEEPSIE — For the third year in a row, the
New York Mets will partner with the personal tax team of Gilman Ciocia
to offer free tax preparation and filing to Mets fans attending games
on April 12, 13 and 15 at Shea Stadium.
Accountants
from Gilman Ciocia will be at the Mets Team Store, behind home plate on
the Field Level, throughout the games. Gilman Ciocia accountants will
prepare an individual’s taxes and review their last three years’
returns for free.
The service, which includes
filing extensions, is free to all Mets fans that have purchased tickets
to any of the following games: April 12 at 1:10 p.m. against Milwaukee,
April 13 at 1:10 against Milwaukee, and April 15 at 7:10 p.m. against
Washington.
