It has been 24 hours since the Mets unveiled their official Citi Field logo. Now that the world has had a day to catch its collective breath, what’s the verdict?

“Underwhelmed” seems to be the consensus.

Over at the Star Ledger, Jeremy Cothran wrote: “Hmm, Citi paid $20 million for this?” One commenter noted the similarity between this and the tilted Enron logo.

Enron

Queens blogger J Soul saw another resemblence: The Domino’s Pizza logo.

As for me, I think the new logo looks kinda corporate and conservative, which makes sense since it was designed by a large conservative corporation and probably was vetted by hundreds of executives and brand consultants before this final, safe work was unveiled. This could be a stadium logo..it could also be a key chain I got for opening a checking account. Then again, I never paid much attention to logos anyway so who cares. Lets just hope Citi Field treats its fans better than Enron treated its shareholders.
