Jerry Grote. John Stearns. Gary Carter. Paul LoDuca. Harry Chiti (so good he was traded for himself).
The Mets have had some great catchers during their tenure at Shea Stadium.
We have been lucky to see the entire Mets careers of some of them from Loge13, including these two: Todd Hundley and Mike Piazza:

Ron Hunt sent along this photo the other day. Here is Todd the Dodger chatting with his successor as John Franco looks on during batting practice, 1999.
Always liked Todd. He was named in the Mitchell report, which surprised us more than it should have. Piazza was cut last year by Oakland but is reportedly still working out and hoping to sign somewhere. If he does indeed retire, it is possible that Roger Clemens, Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa and Mike would all be eligible for the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2013. Only three of those guys would be eligible for the Juicer’s Hall of Fame, however.
Thanks for the photo, Ron.
