At the moment, neither Santana nor Billy Joel are appearing at Shea Stadium next year.
In September, it was reported that Billy Joel would be closing the house The Beatles built.
According to this interview, Joel says nothing is confirmed. And that he also won’t be playing with longtiem drummer Liberty DeVito:
BILLY JOEL is in secret talks to play a landmark concert at New York's Shea Stadium, but it will be without longtime drummer LIBERTY DeVITO.
The rocker and DeVito fell out on tour in 2005 and Joel tells Rolling Stone magazine the duo is still estranged.
He says, "I haven't worked with him since the last tour we did, which started in 2005.
"Let's put it this way... he knows why and I know why, and I'm going to leave it at that."
Meanwhile, Joel can't believe news of his top secret Shea show has been leaked: "We're talking with the New York Mets (baseball team) organisation.
Nothing has been locked in yet.
"I don't know how the word got out, but nothing has been really confirmed as far as I know. I would love to play there though."
Joel set records at another New York venue, Madison Square Garden, in 2006 when he became the first act to sell out 11 successive shows there.

The perfect concert to end Shea's existence would include Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and Sean Lennon. It won't happen, but it would put a lovely finish to Shea's 44-year history.
