Loge13 reader Bob Bobster has put together an amazing little audio archive site. Bob found some old cassette tapes he made of Mets games in 1970 and 1976. He transferred the highlights to digital and has posted them here.

Take a listen to Ralph Kiner, Bob Murphy and Lindsey Nelson again, in their glory days. Here is just a taste of the happy recaps awaiting you.

For many Met fans, these are the voices we grew up with. If you watched a Met game on Monday Night Baseball or on any other broadcast that these guys weren’t a part of, then it didn’t feel like a Met game. And if you are too young to remember, then Bob has done you a great service. Get over to his site and check out these aural delights.

the kellogg hotel & conference usually prefers hotels to a travel lodge and never go via cheap flights, as was told by the hotel school guide.

Great Stuff! We all need to be thankful that we had such a great broadcasting crew bring us all our games, radio and TV. And importantly, as I tell my kid, we learned the game from these guys. How it show be played, the effort and the strategy. Most of all these guys were never homers, unlike others, and always respected the other team and reminded us of their great players.
