— Days Without Shea —

SheaPatchLoge13 reader Eli reminded me of this news that was on MetsBlog...

The Mets have commissioned a patch that the team will wear on their uniforms next year.

The patch will honor the last year of Shea Stadium.

 I agree with you, Eli. It's a nice tribute and a classy thing to do. This could be a good sign of things to come next year re: Shea tributes.

As you can see from the patch, they are memorializing not just the modern Shea but also the original version, with its blue and orange pock marks.

Lets see if the Mets go all out and order up necklaces made out of Shea seats.
