I have never seen the show “King of Queens” and probably won’t start watching it now but this is still worth a mention…
Kevin James, star of “King of Queens” (and co-star with Adam Sandler in that new movie whose name I’m not even going to bother looking up) just become a dad.
His daughter’s name: Shea Joelle James. He said:
I honestly…honestly did [name her after Shea Stadium]. I have been a Mets fan my whole life and [have] such good memories going to Shea Stadium. Her middle name is Joelle after my dad Joe who passed away. I brought it in because he used to take me to Shea all the time.
I can’t believe this got by my wife. She ended up liking the name just for the name itself.
However, Shea Stadium will be replaced by Citi Field in 2009 -- the new stadium is currently under construction. He jokes,
I am excited and a little upset I am going to have to change [her name] to Citi [Field], when they change the stadium over.
My wife and I were going to use Shea as a girl’s name, if we ever had daughters. Instead we had three sons. And Shea is not a good first name for a man. Ask Shea Hillenbrand.
