The Mets head off to Detroit and a nine game road-trip on a sour note. Last night’s 6–3 defeat gave the Phils a sweep and the Mets their fourth loss in a row.

The only good news is that no Mets were hurt.

The Mets amassed 12 hits but scored their only runs on back-to-back-toback home runs by Delgado, Wright and LoDuca.

Wagner could not make the home runs stand up and blew his first save of the year.

Not much more to say on this one. Chavez is on the 15–day DL but is expected to miss at least four weeks. Jose Valentin started for the first time since April but is wearing a brace all season. beltran is starting but admits he is not 100 percent. He went 0–5 last night. Schoeneweis had another poor outing and is also playing hurt. This team needs to dig deep or may come back to New York in second place.

A Loge13 original – Ross Jones – will be in Detroit this weekend and promises to file his thoughts by Sunday on the series.
