According to the morning papers:
Bright orange T-shirts were waiting for the players in the clubhouse Tuesday. A circus clown head, printed in blue underneath a Mets logo, is printed on the front of each, and underneath it, the word "enough." The back offers an explanation: "There isn't a top big enough for this circus."
No one in the clubhouse owned up to the T-shirts or what they infer, but players didn't hesitate to try them on for size before batting practice.
Nice to see the Mets getting clever and staying loose after a rocky month.
Unfortunately, they sent in an evil clown in the 11th inning last night. Scott Schoeneweis came into 3–3 tie and promptly allowed a home run to rookie Brendan Ryan. “My mother could hit a home run off me right now,” Scott told reporters after the game. No one likes a sad clown.
So the Mets lost 5–3 Tuesday night. Thus ends the Mets 4 game win streak. To be honest, we are relieved. The Ace Frehley videos were giving us a headache. Lets start a new streak tonight.
