New York Times journalist Harry Hurt III took a turn as a hot dog vendor at Shea last month. The results are chronicled in his “Executive Pursuits” column in this Saturday’s paper.

Loge13 is usually not a fan of made-for-Web video pieces but this one is fantastic. We get to see the inner workings of Shea and also some of its greatest employees (the vendors) at work.
We did not know that more hot dogs are consumed at Shea than at almost any other major league ball park: over 1.5 MILLION hot dogs a season. Hurt says Yankee Stadium isn’t even in the top 10. Will that record still stand in Citi Field?
