— Shea Stadium Doomsday Clock —

The Cobra Brigade – the blog for all things sports in Chicago – recently asked: What's up with that tower behind the LF wall in Shea where they are building the new stadium?

Here are some photos up close from the Loge level out in left field. This is the Citi Field construction from right behind the visitor bullpen. We believe that tower is where the future outer wall of left field will be.

We’ll be in Loge13 later tonight and will post some Citi Field construction updates.

I prefer to believe that the tower will be underground and lead to a secret hatch (kind of like LOST) where Omar Minaya and Willie Randolph will meet before the game to discuss why exactly the Mets can have so many superstars....yet so many mediocre second basemen on their roster.

Once you've had a superstar like Kaz Matsui play second base for you, everyone else seems mediocre.
