— Days Without Shea —

Amd_metsfansWhat a shock: a month after a drunk landed on her and broke her back, Met fan and attorney Ellen Massey has filed a lawsuit.

This is no surprise to Loge13. We expected this to head to court back in April.

Just before the 7th inning on opening day at Shea, a drunk fan fell on Massey, crushing her spine. She has had several back surgeries, with more to come.

Amazingly, the drunk fan was able to stumble away without getting caught. According to the lawsuit, several vendors stopped the guy and talked to him. The Mets have released this composite sketch of the boozer.

Massey is suing Sterling Mets L.P.; Philadelphia-based Aramark Corp., the beer vendor; the Service Employees International Union Local 177, whose members are security guards at Shea Stadium, and "John Doe," the unidentified man who fell on her, as defendants.

The Mets released a statement, saying the claim has no merit.

I wonder if this woman has any witnesses (outside her family) who could swear this guy was drunk. He PROBABLY was, but those seats are so steep, you could fall like that even while sober, especially if the seats are full and the ground is covered with purses, bags, etc.
