The Mets opening day at Shea Monday is officially sold out.
If you believe the Mets.
The team only put 6,000 tickets on sale to the general public. “On sale” meant you had to join a lottery for a chance to win the rights to buy tickets.
The rest of the ducats went into seven packs. So if you wanted opening day, you also had to buy six other games. including such hot matchups as the Brewers. Making fans by tickets they don’t want to get the one they desire is a lame way to rip off fans. Sadly, every team seems to be doing it. The Reds didn’t offer ANY opening day tickets as single sales this year. The Cardinals offered 7,000, which sold out in a day, then kept 250 on hold for day-of-game sales last Sunday night.
I have tickets through my partial plan but called Shea yesterday to see if they had any opening day packages left. They had just sold out and posted the notice on their site in the morning. So atm, your best bet to get into Shea Monday is here. Two box seats behind 3rd base went for $633 Friday afternoon.
