Defying his newly advanced age, Loge13 sage Ron Hunt spent the weekend in the midwest and managed to catch Sunday's Cubs game.
At last night’s 6–1 victory, we heard Hunt’s eyewitness report on former fan favorite Cliff Floyd: he looked like an old man.
With Soriano moving to left. And young rookie Felix Pie or Jaque Jones the new center fielder, Hunt said Cliff may be forced into right. Not a good place for our hobbled hero. He has only played 79 games there in his career.
Last night, Floyd did start in right and went 0–2, with 2 strikeouts before being lifted.
We are sentimental fools in Loge13 (hence this blog) but Omar made the right move last fall. We don't need any old men taking up bench space. No offense, Julio Franco.
